Barry S. Turner, Esq. is an attorney with the firm and concentrates his practice in banking litigation, bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation, and foreclosures. He has extensive experience with fraudulent and preferential transfers, valuation, assignments for the benefit of creditors, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud. Barry regularly represents trustees and fiduciaries, banks, creditors, debtors, and commercial parties.

Barry practices in state and federal courts throughout Florida. Admitted to The Florida Bar in 2010, he is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Florida, Texas, and Tennessee. He is eligible to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Courts throughout Florida, Texas, and Tennessee as well as the U.S. Bankruptcy Court throughout Florida, Texas, and Tennessee.

In July 2012, Barry co-authored an article in The Florida Bar Business Law Journal, Case Law Update 2011: "International Insolvency Proceedings and Emerging Trends Under Chapter 15 Under the United States Bankruptcy Code." Chapter 15 was added to the Bankruptcy Code by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. It is the U.S. domestic adoption of the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency promulgated in 1997b by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law ("UNCITRAL"), and it replaced section 304 of the Bankruptcy Code. Because of the UNCITRAL source for chapter 15, the U.S. interpretation must be coordinated with the interpretation given by other countries that have adopted it as internal law to promote a uniform and coordinated legal regime for cross-border insolvency cases. See www.uscourts.gov.

From 2010 to 2011, Barry served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert A. Mark, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida (Miami Division). While in law school in 2008, Turner was a summer intern for Chief Judge Laurel M. Isicoff, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida (Miami Division).
